Bill of Rights Against Corporate Tyranny Amendment I: Corporations
are not persons invested with rights, but companies endowed with privileges by
the consent of the people, so in all cases the rights of citizens supercede the
privilege of corporations, and those privileges shall be revoked whenever
abused. Corporations
shall not interfere with affairs of state, or claim access or influence not
afforded to the people. Free
and fair elections being necessary for the proper conduct of a democracy,
campaign donations shall be regulated to bar wealth from undue influence and
assure an equal voice to all citizens. In
the interest of general prosperity, the unrestrained consolidation or
concentration of wealth through monopolies shall not be tolerated. A
well-informed people being necessary for a healthy democracy, the nation’s
airwaves shall remain a public trust and a public forum must be secured for a
free press. No
corporation shall be permitted to befoul or defile the land, waters, or air,
which are public commons to be preserved for all future generations. The
right of the people to be secure in their personal data, medical records, and
private papers against unauthorized searches and accidental leaks shall not be
violated. All
work must be fairly compensated with a minimum wage appropriate for the cost of
living, and access to family healthcare must be assured. No
corporation, nor government acting as the agent of a corporation, may seize by
eminent domain the property of any citizen, nor any portion of the public
commons, without just compensation and due process of law. The test of all judgments regarding the conduct of corporations shall be the promotion of democratic prosperity and broad opportunity, so that all Americans can share in the work and reward of building a strong nation to the enhancement of life and liberty for ourselves and our posterity.
